You know the routine. It’s a cold holiday morning, you’re still savoring your first cup of coffee, but you already have the oven preheating so that your Thanksgiving or Christmas turkey will be ready in time for guests. There’s still stuffing to get ready and the bird needs to be done by no later than 2:00 pm. It’s tradition, right?
Well yes, roasting (or more accurately, baking) the turkey is the most common way to prepare that holiday bird, but there are other methods to consider as well. Here I present three methods for cooking up a wonderful holiday turkey that you may not be familiar with. Perhaps one of these will become your go-to recipe for cooking up a succulent holiday feast that the whole family will enjoy.
And with that, we’re off!

Normalcy. It’s something that I would love to aspire to. unfortunately the whole darned world has been turned upside down for me over the past few months. It’s not just my wife’s health issues, bu trying to balance schedules, sick kids, unpredictable days… And World of Warcraft, which, believe it or not, is also mostly about the food, as I’m a recipe whore there, too.
It’s not that I haven’t had things that should have been posted here. It’s that no matter how hard I try to budget time, there’s something that takes that little slice of productive time and tosses it right out the window. Like infantigo and a trip to the ER, or three kids with a beginning of the school year cold. We’ll not even begin to delve into the phone or email or twitter or G+ or all of the other distractions that the Internet has to offer. Those are things that I am usually able to push to the side while I work.
I just haven’t had any time to work!
I know. I know. I should have squeezed in a post here or there, but it’s terribly difficult to adequately describe a flavor or the sensation of a great dish or a good craft beer in five minutes. I know. I’ve tried. Those fitful attempts at writing aren’t even drafts worthy of updating. They’re crap.
With any luck, this next few weeks will dissolve into a state of normalcy and with it, the time to get the 20+ half-written posts that are worth finishing will find their way to the pages of this space.
In short, I’m neither dead nor have I moved to the Bahamas. I just have a very large and unpredictable piece of “Life” revolving around me.
And that was my 7 minutes. Time to make the kids dinner, because it’s mostly about the food for them, too.
Peace. I’m out.
